Charlotte, NC — Digital R&B artist Nia Devereaux and songwriter/media creative Veronica Charnell are making a bold statement with the release of their new single, “The Sound.” More than just a song, the release serves as a cultural and political message encouraging people to use their voices, stand together, and participate in shaping the future through voting.

Inspired by today’s political climate and growing conversations surrounding freedom, equality, representation, and civic engagement, “The Sound” challenges listeners not to remain silent during critical moments in society. The song’s core message is simple yet powerful: the voices of the people are the sound of change.

Set against the dramatic skyline of Charlotte, North Carolina, the visual campaign for “The Sound” reflects strength, empowerment, and the belief that collective voices still matter. Through emotionally driven storytelling, cinematic visuals, and bold lyrical themes, Nia Devereaux and Veronica Charnell aim to inspire audiences to recognize the power they hold.

“This song represents courage and power”’ said Veronica Charnell. “I wanted the people to feel empowered to speak, vote, and understand that their voices matter. Too many people feel unheard, but The Sound is a reminder that the power still belongs to “We the People.” This song was written in 2025 at the Planet Fitness in Greensboro, North Carolina. “I was walking on the treadmill and the words to this song was being downloaded literally. All I could do was to grab my phone and start typing. I had no idea the political climate was going to shift to what we are witnessing today in the Federal and State Governments. Especially, the voting issues in the southern states.

The single encourages listeners to move beyond fear and silence by participating in conversations that impact their communities and future generations. Themes throughout the project highlight freedom, unity, visibility, and social awareness while promoting civic engagement through voting.

Nia Devereaux brings a modern and futuristic energy to the release, continuing to push creative boundaries through music and digital artistry. Combined with Veronica Charnell’s storytelling and media-driven vision, the collaboration creates an anthem designed to spark thought, conversation, and action.

With the message “Speak. Vote. Change.” woven into the campaign, “The Sound” arrives as both a musical release and a reminder that change begins when people refuse to stay silent.
